Prof. Chim has served as a scientific peer reviewer for the Department of Defense and also serves on committees for the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and Plastic Surgery Research Council. He Chim has received grant funding from the Plastic Surgery Foundation, as well as the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons. He was the recipient of the 2018 Gelberman Scholar Award from the American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH) and travelled around the world teaching and learning new surgical techniques as a representative of the ASSH and North American hand surgery.
