Special Issue Introduction
In this special issue, topics related to blepharoplasty and periorbital rejuvenation will be discussed including the evaluation process, different techniques, possible complications and their management. Eyelids are central elements of the face that need to be evaluated in the context of the surrounding structures, and identifying the factors contributing to the eyelid appearance is the first crucial step in designing a surgical plan to optimize facial appearance. The evaluation process and pitfalls to avoid in the preoperative planning stage will be discussed, which includes managing patients’ expectations to reduce postoperative dissatisfaction. The risk factors for poor wound healing, postoperative complications and their management will also be reviewed. We look forward to submissions in the near future and the different perspectives based on the experiences of other highly-renowned authors.
