Special Issue Introduction
Breast implantation either for cosmetic or reconstructive purposes is one of the most common procedures performed in plastic surgery. Breast implant-associated complications has often been reported and severe complications required revision surgery for explantation. This special issue is focused on the risk factors, aetiopathogenesis and prevention of breast implant complications, including breast implant-associated illness, implant rupture, leaking, adverse immune response, autoimmune disease, infection, biofilm, capsular contracture (CC), and breast implant-associated - anaplastic large cell lymphoma (BIA-ALCL), with special attention to risk factors, pathogenesis and prevention of CC and BIA-ALCL.
