Special Issue Introduction

Negative-pressure wound therapy (NPWT) involves the controlled application of negative pressure to the wound environment, through an occlusive dressing connected to a vacuum pump. This is one of the newer modality that has gained popularity in recent few decades for treatment of acute, sub-acute, chronic and difficult to treat wounds. There are numerous research articles and reports are available now. There is need to review these articles to provide guidelines for younger generation, to find out lacunae in the available literature and for researchers to further advancement The issue will mainly focus on reviews, clinical research, technique and newer concepts related to NPWT.
