Special Issue Introduction

Mandibular fractures constitute one of the most common traumatic injuries in the human skeleton. Great diagnostic and therapeutic achievements have been made in the last decades. The advent of new technological and material options has allowed surgeons to implement minimal-invasive treatment options and computer-assisted diagnostic procedures into daily clinical routine. Nevertheless, there is great discussion on conservative versus modern diagnostic and therapeutic approaches, which need to be thoroughly discussed. Hence, this special issue aims at enriching scientific literature on accurate repair of mandibular fractures. Highly renowned authors contribute their specific expertise on this highly interesting field of craniomaxillofacial and plastic surgery.
