1. About Plastic and Aesthetic Research

Plastic and Aesthetic Research (PAR) is an open access peer-reviewed online journal. PAR has been focused on the achievement of high-quality academic publications. In 2022, PAR continued prioritizing the scientific value of manuscripts, aiming to disseminate cutting-edge research results and promote scientific innovation.

ACCESSIBILITY

We provide all readers with free and unlimited access to the latest research and science. All our contents are provided in open access mode and distributed under a Creative Commons License 4.0, which means free distribution and the right to share the published articles.

EFFICIENCY

We adhere to a rapid publication procedure to ensure that cutting-edge research is quickly disseminated. A first decision is usually provided to authors within 2-3 weeks; once accepted, papers are published in about 1 week.

FLEXIBILITY

In the rapidly evolving industry, PAR keeps pace with the times. In the process of manuscript processing, we actively seek feedback from authors, readers and reviewers to promote high-quality academic publishing.

DIVERSITY

We are committed to creating and maintaining an environment that respects diversity. We focus on eliminating barriers to participation, providing equal opportunities across all stakeholders, and ensuring that our practices and policies guarantee equitable treatment and do not allow, condone, or result in discrimination.

2. Editorial Board

In 2022, 23 new outstanding scholars joined the Editorial Board. As of December 31, 2022, there are a total of 125 Editorial Board members, mainly from 15 countries, including the USA, China, Italy, the UK, Japan, Germany, Australia, Belgium, Spain, etc. (Figure 1)

3. Journal Development

Post-publication distribution of our authors' research is one of PAR's top priorities to ensure high visibility throughout the academic community. The first step for many scholars seeking quality research is indexing databases, which is an accessible route to not only related studies, but also new scientific journals.

On June 22, 2022, PAR was accepted for inclusion in Scopus, the world's largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature. In the New Year, we will continue providing high-quality academic services and striving to further promote academic exchanges.

4. Publications

In 2022, PAR published 63 papers (11 Original Articles, 43 Review Articles, and 7 other types, Figure 2), which are loved by readers. We have received 56,385 views and 11,598 downloads. Most of the contributors are from Stanford University, Florida University, Southern California University, Chicago Medicine University, Washington University, Hospital Robert-Debré University etc. They are mainly found in the following 10 countries, the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, Germany, Italy, France, Australia, China, Switzerland, Spain, etc.(Figure 3)

5. Special Issues

In 2022, 17 Special Issues on hot topics were launched under the leadership of renowned researchers from the Washington University School of Medicine, Peking Union Medical College Hospital and Medstar Georgetown University Hospital, University of Pennsylvania Health System, Texas Children's Hospital in the USA, Linköping University in Sweden, and Macquarie University in Australia, etc.

6. Webinars

In 2022, PAR successfully organized six webinars to facilitate academic discussions and the exchange of insights among researchers. A total of 27 outstanding experts shared their unique insights and clinical experience in the field of plastic surgery and more than 60,000 viewers participated in our academic exchange platform. 2022 has really been a fruitful year for PAR. In 2023, we pledge to continue adhering to the principle of high-quality publishing, providing professional service to scholars, publishing more high-quality articles, and promoting scientific progress in this field. We sincerely thank everyone who has contributed to PAR. We look forward to your continued support to help us make the journal better. At the same time, we cordially invite more scientists and researchers in this field to join us and jointly advance the development of this field.
