The 2019 Annual Report meeting of Plastic and Aesthetic Research (PAR) was held on January 20, 2020. Smart Zhang, the Managing Editor, reported the development of the journal over the past year to all members of the Editorial Office. The main contents of the report are as follows.

First, thanks to our Editor-in-Chief Prof. Raúl González-García, the Editorial Board members, reviewers, authors and readers, in 2019, under concerted efforts of experts and all editorial staff, the journal insisted on publishing high-quality articles, and speeding up the process of publication and actively countered new challenges and innovations with better services for authors, readers and other experts.

In 2019, PAR published a total of 33 articles, mostly review articles (Figure 1). PAR has always pursued high-quality publishing with scientific rigor by releasing contributions by authors from mainly 10 countries, such as the United States and South Korea (Figure 2). The rate of rejection was 49.57% in 2019. The 33 articles were read cumulatively 40,587 times in 2019, and were downloaded 7690 times. According to the statistics, the most viewed article was a review article, entitled "Prosthetic and orthotic options for lower extremity amputation and reconstruction", and the most downloaded article was an original article, entitled "Surgical management of zygomatic complex fractures in a major trauma centre".

The contribution and support from our Editor-in-Chief and all the Editorial Board members, reviewers, authors, readers, etc. in 2019 are greatly appreciated! In 2020, PAR will focus on establishing more influential special issues, insisting on publishing high-quality articles, and disseminating valuable articles to readers quickly. PAR will also reinforce the team of Editorial Board members, strengthen external cooperation, actively cooperate with more well-known associations or conferences, improve the journal's influence, and promote the development of this field together. This year brings a new beginning! Let us forge ahead together and continue to provide our readers/experts with a high-quality journal they have come to expect of us.
