Dr. Charles E. Butler is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Plastic Surgery at the University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center. After receiving his Medical Doctorate at the University of Pennsylvania he completed his General Surgery residency at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, National Institute of Health-sponsored basic science research fellowship at Harvard Medical School and Plastic Surgery residency at Harvard. Dr. Butler is board certified in general and plastic surgery and is the immediate Past President of the Plastic Surgery Foundation (PSF) and President of the American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery (ASRM). He is a well-recognized expert in reconstructive surgery, particularly in complex reconstruction and microsurgery, with over 300 publications and 700 invited national and international presentations, instructional courses, and lectures. Dr. Fernandes received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Boston University and Doctorate in Dental Medicine from the Goldman School of Dental Medicine, also at Boston University. Horch is Director and Chairman of the Department of Plastic and Hand Surgery and Head of the Laboratory for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine of the University Hospital Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nuernberg FAU in Germany where he has been officially appointed as a tenured Professor since January 2003. He is a Professor of Plastic and Hand Surgery with specialist degrees and Board certifications in Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery, Hand Surgery and General Surgery.
He was incremental in building up the Laboratory for Tissue Engineering at the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg, where he served as vice chairman of the Department of Plastic and Hand Surgery until he was appointed at the University Erlangen-Nuernberg. There he built up the Department of Plastic and Hand Surgery and the Laboratory for Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine.
He was highly acclaimed with numerous prestigious scientific awards and merits including honorary doctorates and professorships and was appointed as an honorary member of the Romanian Academy of Science. Since 2003 he served as spokesman of the German Academic Plastic Surgeons in University Hospitals, and is currently President of the German Society of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons DGPRÄC as well as a member of the presidium of the German Society of Surgery DGCH. He is involved in numeorus academic committees and is also serving as spokesman of all Surgical Departments and Divisions of the University Hospital Erlangen at FAU. Clinically he covers the whole spectrum of Plastic and Hand Surgery including Aesthetic Surgery. His main research interests include tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, cell-culture techniques, keratinocytes, micro vascularization, microsurgical reconstructions, tissue prefabrication, scar treatment and wound healing.
Within his scientific career Prof Horch was incremental in establishing 3D vascularization of tissue engineered constructs with the use of av-loops and expanding such techniques to cancer research, furthering academic implementation of Plastic Surgery in Germany as a scientific and clinical specialty, developing new techniques of cultured human skin grafts (keratinocyte fibrin sealant single cell transplantation, monolayer subconfluent keratinocytes on various carrier membranes etc.), bringing combined vascular surgical-plastic surgical concepts for reconstruction to a clinical routine and developing algorithms for bypass-av-loop-free flap transplantations, enhancing microvascular new techniques in breast reconstruction, optimizing plastic surgical training (he was several times elected to be the best plastic surgical teacher in Germany). He also pioneered methods of free flap fabrication with the use of negative pressure therapy. He researched basic mechanisms of negative pressure wound therapy from microscopic into molecular levels.
Dr. Hu, MD, PhD, supervisor of doctoral candidates, is Director and Professor of Department of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery, Nanfang Hospital, Southern Medical University. Dr. Hu graduated from the First Military Medical University in 1985, had the master-doctor continuous study in Sun yat-sen University of Medical Sciences, got the doctoral degree of microsurgery and plastic surgery, and studied abroad in Japan for one year in 2003. Dr. Hu has been engaged in microsurgery for 30 years and experienced in burns, plastic surgery of scars and trauma, congenital deformities, facial and trunk aesthetic surgery and etc., especially good at dealing with intractable cases in the field of plastic and aesthetic surgery and microsurgery. Besides, Dr. Hu creates the new surgery of transposition of temporalis, temporal fascia, galea aponeurotica-pericranium in facialparalysis in later period. Dr. Chang-Cheng Chang is a well-known microvascular reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgeon. He is the founder of both wound care center and aesthetic medical centers in Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Chia Yi, Taiwan in 2010.

Dr Rafael Dib Possiedi completed his postgraduate training in Plastic Surgery at the Ivo Pitanguy Institute and is subspecializing in Hand, Burns & Reconstructive Microsurgery at Ganga Hospital in Coimbatore - India. Having previously completed a residency in Trauma Surgery at the Hospital of Pronto Socorro, Porto Alegre and a research fellowship at the prestigious University of California in San Diego (UCSD), he currently also serves as research supervisor for PhD candidates at the Medical Evangelical School in Parana. He widely publishes in plastic and trauma surgery.
Current research interests includes wound healing signal pathways, transcription factors, tissue reaction to biomaterials, skin grafting, aesthetic surgery, reconstructive microsurgery and inflammatory biomarkers.

Prof. Raffaele Rauso is an Italian Plastic Surgeon; he obtained his medical degree at 24 years old. Later on he became consultant Cranio-Facial Surgeon, then performed a PhD program in Plastic Surgery, Dermatology and Anatomy, then obtained a post graduate Diploma in Microsurgery, then a Master’s degree in Aesthetic Surgery and one more in Breast Reconstruction.

Prof. Shalom is an expert in Burn Surgery (from the University of Johns Hopkins, Baltimore MD, USA) and an expert in breast reconstruction (from the University of MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston TX, USA), expert in Dermoscopy (from the University of Graz, Austria) and expert in Mohs surgery (ASMS, San Diego, CA). Prof. Shalom is Chairman of the board examination of plastic surgery and is the former chairman of the Israeli Plastic surgery ethic committee. Dr. Süleyman Taş, MD, PhD, was born in Turkey. He graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Medicine in 2008 and received the title of MD. He was in fellowship program in Gent, Belgium from 2012 to 2013. He fellowed with Dr.Pattrick L. Dr. Alex K. Wong is Director for our Microvascular Surgery Fellowship Program and an Assistant Professor of Surgery in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has attended staff appointments at Keck University Hospital of USC, LAC+USC Medical Center, Huntington Memorial Hospital, Los Robles Hospital, and Garfield Medical Center. He specializes in microsurgical free tissue transfer for the management of complex wounds, post-oncologic reconstruction, abdominal wall reconstruction, and lymphedema surgery. Dr. Wong performs aesthetic surgery of the face, breast, and body and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also a Member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery, World Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery, and Plastic Surgery Research Council. Dr. Wong has been named one of Pasadena Magazine's Top Doctors for every year since 2010, and a Rising Star for 2013, 2014, and 2015 by SuperDoctors/Los Angeles Magazine.
As a member of the full time Keck School of Medicine USC faculty, Dr. Wong teaches and mentors the next generation of doctors and plastic surgeons. He serves as the Director of Plastic Surgery Visiting Clerkship at the Keck School of Medicine.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Wong directs a research laboratory at the USC Institute of Genetic Medicine with focus areas in adult-derived stem cells and novel biologics for wound healing, lymphedema, molecular pathogenesis of silicone breast implant capsular contracture, and microvascular flap physiology. Dr. Wong has received multiple grants and awards from organizations such as the Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation, Howard Hughes Medical Institute, American Society for Maxillofacial Surgery, Wright Foundation, Whittier Foundation, and the American Cancer Society. He was recently awarded a grant from the NIH funded Southern California-Clinical Translational Science Institute (SC-CTSI). His work has been published in a variety of high impact peer reviewed journals.
Prior to joining the faculty at USC, Dr. Wong completed his Fellowship training at the NYU Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery and completed his formal Plastic Surgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Wong received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and the Harvard-MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology and is an honors graduate of the College of Arts and Sciences of Cornell University.

Dr. Yang has engaged himself in practicing and researching cranio-maxillo-facial surgery for twenty-five years. He undertook successively more than ten scientific projects, including national and provincial priority projects supported by government fund. He possessed national patent for invention of the Head fixing frame for CT scanner .The project of surgical treatment of craniofacial malformations was awarded National and Provincial Scientific & Technological Advance Prize respectively in 1995 and 2008. He had published seven monographs. Among two of those books he served as the editor-in-chief. He has published approximately 50 original articles, reviews and translations. He has performed a lot of major surgical procedures on craniofacial deformities and gotten satisfactory results. Especially he used the distraction technique to treat Treacher-Collins syndrome, microsomia, etc., having gotten both good appearance and physiologic function. His treatment scope includes: congenital and post-traumatic craniofacial deformities, craniofacial defect secondary tumor resection, facial nerves paralysis, secondary maxillofacial deformities of cleft lip and palate, scalp and skull defect, haemangioma, hemifacial microsomia, orbital hypertelorism, congenital craniofacial syndromatic malformation, such as crouzon syndrome, apert syndrome, pffeifer syndrome, carpenter syndrome, as well as the craniosynostosis or craniostenosis, such as scaphocephaly, oxycephaly, turricephaly, brachycephaly, plagiocephaly, triangucephaly and so on.
